Summary:

Owlet is growing and on the search for an experienced and dynamic Test Development and Failure Analysis Engineer to drive test engineering and failure analysis efforts within the quality organization.

Essential Functions:

Failure Analysis -

Conduct detail product failure analysis and drive issue resolutions

Work closely with Design, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineers to inspect, and troubleshoot units

Determine and document failure mode

Determine and document resolution of failure

Document failure analysis

Coordinate, perform and document completion of re-work instructions

Determine warranty status, root cause and corrective action

Work closely with Consumer Affairs Specialist to resolve field issues

Calibration management for Owlet owned equipment in house and at supplier locations

Test Engineering –

Interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications.

Develop test equipment - includes design and development of electronics, firmware and hardware to verify product function on the manufacturing line

Work closely with the Hardware and Software design teams to ensure the test equipment / processes required for the New Products meet the standards expected in a high-volume manufacturing environment

Participate in new product DFMEA and DFM activities

Involvement in the planning and execution of new product introductions to the worldwide manufacturing sites

Capable of generating manufacturing test-ready documentation for use on production floor

Experience transitioning development programs into production

Lead the standardization and optimization of the test processes

Provide technical / product expertise to resolve any Test Engineering related issues through the life of the product

Work closely with your peers in the other product areas to ensure we have the most optimal test processes across all products / sites

Make recommendations to design & test coverage improvement

Drive to closure potential test gaps and correlations issues between our Vendors and manufacturing processes

Risk and redundancy management as it relates to production capacity and throughput

Ensures testing procedures follow any required industry specific standards.

Qualifications:

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering required

Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles

2 to 4 years of experience developing test plans, testing equipment and failure analysis for consumer electronics or medical device manufacturer

Familiarity with ISO13485, 21 CFR 820 requirements relating to testing and failure analysis

Must be able to drive projects to closure

Travel up to 25 % internationally
