Owlet is looking for an exceptional biostatistician who can handle large, complex datasets and who is passionate about data-driven improvement of health care.
Owlet’s first product, the Owlet Smart Sock (OSS), is a novel, wearable device that is designed to alert parents if their baby stops breathing or if their vital signs present other abnormalities. The OSS uses pulse oximetry coupled with other biometric sensors to measure the baby’s heart rate, oxygen saturation, skin temperature and movement. The OSS records these metrics and stores them in a cloud database. The cloud server pushes the data to a parent’s smartphone for real-time remote monitoring. Our immense dataset and complex application require a skilled and passionate professional to mine, analyze and articulate the data into added value for parents, researchers and clinicians.
Analyze infant vitals datasets and develop algorithms to further company mission to improve infant health.
Work directly with Medical Advisor and clinical team to analyze clinical study data.
Discover useful insights and co-author academic publications to inform medical community.
Collaborate with Connected Care team to determine most useful insights to share with customers and clinicians via mobile device experience.
Coordinate with hospital and university partners in joint-research.
Work with data management personnel to improve dataset architecture for optimal utility.
Participate in establishment and development of department SOP’s.
Analyze other company data to generate insights for management.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 5 years professional experience in (Bio)statistics, Bioinformatics, or other relevant Data Science field.
Expertise navigating complex biological or medical datasets and extracting valuable conclusions.
Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.
Proven ability to effectively contribute to the statistical aspects of data interpretation, review and reporting of results for multiple studies and projects.
Self-motivated and able to operate with significant autonomy to meet very aggressive timelines.
Advanced machine learning and modeling.
Experience in data processing, time series analysis, clustering, trend analysis, and anomaly detection.
Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform or similar cloud services like AWS or Azure.
Expert knowledge of an analysis tool such as R, Matlab, STATA or SAS.
Advanced degree in relevant field
Clinical trial design for publication and FDA approval, and clinical research experience
Authorship and/or publication experience
Command of Excel and Python
