Director of Finance

SUMMARY:

Owlet’s Executive team is searching for an experienced, and self-motivated Director of Finance to drive financial policies, systems, processes and activities for Owlet and will report to the SVP of Operations. This position is highly integrated on the leadership team and will be integral to the strategic planning and direction of corporate initiatives. The ideal candidate has experience in all accounting and finance tasks and has proven track record in monitoring the financial forecast and future of the company. Owlet is a fast and growing company and looking for an individual who is highly adaptable and willing to learn and grow with the growth of the company.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive the financial planning for Owlet by analyzing performance, plans and risks

• Produce the financial planning & analysis (FP&A) outlook with 4-5 years out meeting Company’s goals & vision

• Manage and direct the in-house Accounting/Finance Team, process and procedures

• Strategically provide accounting/tax compliance advice as Company addresses Nexus issues and expands distribution into international markets

• Responsible for monthly GAAP financial statements for the leadership team, Investors, and Board of Directors

• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles (Technology/SaaS Model)

• Establish and maintain company budgets & department budgets and work closely with leadership on variance management.

• Identify trends and budgets within organizations and pro-actively provide cost-saving suggestions

• Partner with business leaders in Marketing, Engineering, & Operations teams to ensure appropriate design and operating effectiveness of internal controls and inventory reconciliations

• Oversee due diligence in equity fundraising and assist in fundraising efforts as directed by the CEO

• Manage relationships with outside legal counsel and management of Stock Option Plans & Cap Tables

• Negotiate and manage banking relationships and corresponding loans and loan covenants

• Strong alignment with Owlet’s mission

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance & Accounting, Master’s preferred

• 5+ years of relevant experience • FP&A Experience & Budget Control Experience

• ERP Accounting Experience, NetSuite preferred

• Experience with Financial Statement Audits & Managing Cap Tables & ISO Plans

• Accounting Acquisition Experience preferred
